Minimum Stay: 2 nights. Holidays require 3-4 nights, depending on the holiday.

Booking: For reservations of 3 days or more, we require a 50% deposit at the time of booking, with the balance due upon arrival. For all reservations of less than 3 days, full payment is due at the time of booking.

Cancellation Policy: Due to the nature of our business, and the fact that people generally book our cabins well in advance, we require a minimun of 30 days notice in order to give a full refund of your deposit, less a $75 cancellation fee. If you must cancel your reservation with less than 30 days notice of your arrival date, and we are able to re-rent your cabin in full, we will be happy to refund your deposit, less the $75 service charge; cancellations 7 days or less will be responsible for full amount of stay. All Holidays will be charged in full.

On-site Management: Since we live on the property, we are available to answer questions or help you with recommendations to make the most of your vacation in the Smokies.

Pet-friendly Policy: We do allow well mannered, house broken pets. We ask that when you are not at the cabin, and when possible, that you take your pet with you. Pets left unattended indoors must be caged. For the safety of other guests, please do not leave your pet unattended outdoors.

Most dogs enjoy water, so please do not let them into the cabin until they are completely dry. If your pet is of the shedding kind, please do not allow them on the furniture or beds. The reason we allow pets is that we could not imagine going on vacation without ours. We only ask that you follow our simple rules.

Pet Fee: Do to the extra time involved in cleaning a cabin because we allow pets, we must charge a $75 minimum pet fee, which includes up to 2 dogs, but depends on size and length of stay. Guests are responsible for any charges that might arise from any damage.

No smoking inside the cabins.

Hand-crafted Log Cabins

Both Whispering Winds cabins were hand-built by Eduard Mercer, the owner. Each massive timber was logged using Belgian horses and peeled by hand with an old-fashioned draw-knife. After matching the perfect fit, workers muscled the logs into place. Not unlike icing a huge cake, the chinking was placed between each and every log.

Eduard sometimes uses a modern chain saw to speed up the traditional hand-notching technique.
